Who I Am What I Do

Rod and Ben's

This heart-warming story began in 1998 with two home-grown heroes looking to make a fresh start in deepest Devon.  Brimming with bold ideas and good intentions our two have-a-go friends set themselves an altogether audacious undertaking.  Namely how best to grow tasty, nutritious vegetables without endangering the environment.

Although organic was the answer, the final solution needed to be somewhat deeper.

Based on the non-negotiable notion that the best tasting food is picked and eaten in season, Rod & Ben began their wholesome adventure, selling big boxes overflowing with vibrant veg.

Yet still they weren't satisfied - a new idea sloshed around their heads, stirring all manner of deep-rooted emotions and SOUP was its name!

'We think the secret to our soup's success is keeping things simple and straight forward.  This is why we believe that the best soups should always insist on only accommodating the finest imaginable ingredients.

We'd be the first to admit that being born on our Devon farm gives our award-winning veg an unfair advantage in life.  For one thing our strict home grown policy means that our pampered ingredients have a little extra time to laze around the farm and conserve their taste before being picked.

It would however be wrong to suggest that an idyllic rural upbringing doesn't come at a cost.  For one thing we insist that all our ingredients live by a strict organic code, where they are encouraged to become the very best veg they can possibly be.
Having taken stock of their privileged existence, we find that our veg are only too happy to take the plunge when it comes to assisting us in our ongoing mission to produce an ever-evolving portfolio of superior soups.
We in turn ensure that all our recipes are made in small, manageable batches so that our ingredient's integrity, (colour, flavour and texure), are preserved at all times.'
Organic, Vegetarian, Handmade, Additive & Preservative Free, the range is almost exclusively Wheat & Gluten Free.
